Steve Martin & Martin Short put on a masterclass of comedy in Adelaide

We all have bucket lists. Singing with Bruce Springsteen (tick).
Seeing Martin Short live (tick).
What I wasn’t bucket-listing was seeing Martin Short and Steve Martin on stage in Adelaide.
But it happened last night and I died and went to My Blue Heaven (old Steve Martin movie reference … Google it).
I went with trepidation. Martin is 74, Short is 69, so I was prepared to give them 20 per cent off because … well … they’re older (as we all are).
I don’t know what they’re on, all I know is they were on stage in Adelaide, putting on a masterclass in comedy that was beyond perfection. Split-second timing, incredibly lateral brilliantly written jokes that were hilarious. “Comedians”, take note.
They mixed this with a retrospective slide and video show that reminded us all why these two legends are exactly that.
Legendary movies and characters that are now part of our DNA from The Jerk to Jiminy Glick.
They ended the show with a eulogy to each other and yes … we died laughing.
Wild and crazy and perfect. Ten out of five stars!
Did you go to last night’s show? Let us know what you thought in the comments

I also was wary about how good they'd be, but they totally nailed it. Genuinely funny from start to finish - legends!

Absolutely brilliant! Perfect timing and so very funny! The Bluegrass was an unexpected revelation - I knew Steve Martin played banjo... but wow. Great video montages and banter.

Unless they screamed out in vein popping volume, profanities and SJW war cries they are not comedians. Oh wait - that's every comedian in Australia.

One of the, if not the best comedy shows I have ever been to. They are utter professionals at what they do but that's not surprising seeing they've been doing it for 40+ years...
